Heartly

Privacy

The short version, in plain words.

What we store

What you write in journaling and in conversations, the replies Heartly gives, the words you choose to keep, your progress through stages, and your account email. We also record simple usage events (for example, that a stage was finished) so we can tell what helps. If something you write suggests you may be at risk, we record only that it happened, never what you wrote.

Who can see it

Your writing is private to you. We don't sell it, show it to other users, or use it for advertising. To generate replies, your messages are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic), which does not use them to train its models. A small team may look at records only to fix problems or keep the service safe.

Not therapy

Heartly is a self-reflection tool. It isn't therapy, medical care or crisis support. If you're in danger or thinking about ending your life, please contact Samaritans (UK) on 116 123, call or text 988 (US), or your local emergency number.

Deleting your data
